I am working on an old railroad warehouse in Medford. It's got a neat old safe in it. There are no pictures of it at the historical society, where else might there be pictures of this building? It's called the Colley Neff building. I think it was built in 1924.
Hi,
I haven't heard of this building, but I think that my friends at Medford Railroad Park might know. We have a lot of retired railroad workers in the valley with a lot of untapped knowledge. If you give me some more information I will ask them about it. You can also go to the park on 2nd Sundays and ask someone there. It's also lots of fun.
What kind of warehouse is It? and what is the address? Was it used by the railroad? or was it used by a business for instance fruit packing that utilized the railroad? I assume that Colley Neff was the owner.
Thanks for the link to the article. What a cool building and the winemaking prospect sounds very interesting. It looks like they used the rail line to ship paper. I wonder if the Historical Society would have any info on it that way, under paper industry. If George Kramer found info on it, I'm sure the Historical Society has something.
Our next meeting is June 12th at 6:30 and will be a presentation by a local Medford author, Dolores Schwalb, on visiting Lithia Park in 1933. She will be serving Lithia water lemonade, much better tasting than it sounds, and doing the presentation in period dress.
