Connect Ashland

The last passenger train departed the Ashland Depot in August of 1955. Before that time from December 1887 until 1927, Ashland was a busy railroad town. Rail service died down somewhat after 1927 with the advent of the Natron Cutoff, but picked up again during WWI and WWII when many troop trains went through Ashland. When the Southern Pacific decided to end Passenger Service in 1955 the Ashland Chamber of Commerce protested, but to no avail.

Many visitors to the Ashland Railroad Museum would like to see Passenger Rail start again in Ashland? What do you think?
