I don't understand why food comes so far when the ground is so close to our mouthes?? I mean it's right there...below your eyes and under your feet.

The soil that is needed to grow your food. Yet we have food from Costa Rica & China....avo's from Equador & Chile...and Pears from Brazil !! Yet many of the foods we need can be grown and eaten right here in the Rogue Valley!! Why do we fail to remember our need for food when we cover the wonderful soil this valley offers with houses and urban sprawl? This valley offers some awesome growing grounds, a long sunny season, and pure water. We need to set an example of how an area can support it's own food needs and be less if not completely independent on out of the area foods to meet our needs.

Your input and thoughts are desired.....

Hi Dave, I support your thoughts and feelings about growing and eating our own food. I have such limited space to grow anything, but I am going to get a few containers and grow what I can. I am so excited about the prospect of eating my own, home grown food! I will let you know how my garden grows.
