Volunteers serve meals and refreshments, escort visitors, entertain patients, provide clerical support and assist the public in the hospital’s Health Information Center.

Headstart: 734-5150. Volunteers work with children ages 0 to 5. Read books, rock, teach, and play with children. Criminal history check required.
Hospice: 488-7328. Volunteers provide direct patient care, respite care, companionship, massage or pet therapy, bereavement counseling and perform administrative tasks.
The Hospice Unique Boutique: 488-7805. Volunteers sort, price and display donations for sale, cashier, pick up and deliver, do tech support.
Jackson County Fuel Committee: 488-2905. Volunteers cut, stack and deliver wood, and weatherize homes
Jackson County Mental Health: 774-8201. Volunteers receive six weeks of training to provide seniors counseling, support and advocacy. Must be at least 55 years of age.

Northwest Seasonal Workers: 773-6811. Volunteers provide legal and medical advocacy. Perform office work and membership canvassing in low-income neighborhoods. Distribute food and clothing. Design, and write the newsletter. Volunteers receive an orientation.

Uncle Food’s Diner: 482-9625. Volunteers provide a free hot supper every Tuesday to the public at the Methodist church. Volunteers pick up food donations, prepare and serve food and clean up.
US Fish and Wildlife Service Forensic Laboratory: 482-4191. Volunteers perform GPS mapping, DNA analysis, carcass preparation. A science background required.
