Connect Ashland

We volunteer members of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) are well over 200 strong in Ashland, with many more volunteers living in Medford, Talent, Jacksonville, and elsewhere in Southern Oregon.

You've heard of Map Your Neighborhood? That's a major CERT activity. Cold weather emergency shelters during harsh winter storms? We partner with some Ashland churches to open their halls and maintain a safe, warm and secure shelter for homeless people, whose lives are in jeopardy when the thermometer drops below 20 degrees.

We've all undergone rigorous training and are prepared to secure our own homes during a disaster, then reach out to help neighbors, and we can be activated by the City through the Fire Department to respond when the City's emergency crews are overwhelmed.

Come join us! Basic training is Friday & Saturday, May 1st and 2nd, 8th and 9th. Call the CERT office at 552-2226 to sign up. It's FREE, and a real skill-builder, and fun besides.
