With scary news about Swine Flu surfacing, I'm very curious about why some get mildly sick and quickly recover, some die, and others don't get sick at all. I'm sure there are a menu of reasons but one I would like to see explored is the status of individual immune systems.

I understand that both suppressed and over revved immune systems can be troublesome. I hope more helpful data on this comes to light, so that we can do more than just wait, quaking in fear of bad news - "It's coming, it's coming!" - and take practical steps to prepare our bodies to handle a challenge.

Interesting question, will. perhaps health and wellness practitioners and professionals around the valley have a take on steps people can take?
Health professionals who focus on prevention have lots of ideas. Preparation always makes a huge difference, in every field. It could make a very interesting article for the Tidings, maybe a half dozen Valley health professionals all weighing in on their favorite prevention recommendations. An easy way to accomplish this would be to come up with a series of standard questions and just pose them to each practitioner. Could be done over the phone with pics emailed in.

I'm happy to help and I could ask our practitioners here at Hidden Springs if anyone wants to input.
Will - go for it! that would be a really helpful use of this space. they can add their comments here, and I could compile them for the paper.
