Ashland Railroad Museum would like to invite anyone interested in old Ashland photos or history to our 2nd Friday History Night, April 10th at 6:30 PM. Local historian, Rod Reid, will be showing rarely seen photos and old maps of Ashland and talking about "The Coming of the Railroad". 261-6605 for more info.

The hair and attire in Ashland was different in the 70s. See uploaded pic of shirt being modeled for Freddie's shop on the Plaza, by carpenter Bruce Hornak, with then-common afro, in 74. And yes, I recall Harry Anderson, a great early character who went onto tv fame in Night Court. The park was full of such fun, but I don't recall what.

john - I must be thinking of something else in the park. puppet shows? juggling? harry anderson of night court as a feisty teen starting out in ashland. I swear it wasn't a dream.

myles...the 4th of July way back...have seen them all since 71...there was about half the number of people back then and no booths in the park. the fireworks were shot off at emigrant lake, so everyone drove out there and picknicked. (uploading pic of the fireworks, 72) the parade was well attended, thousands of people. there weren't any political floats back then. simpler. always fun!
