Hospice Unique Boutique anniversary

Here's a news release I sent to local papers:

The Southern Oregon Fundraising Alliance (SOFA, a not-for-profit organization) will announce its first awards of grants to Rogue Valley hospice or end-of-life care agencies on Saturday, June 12, at the first
anniversary celebration of SOFA’s Hospice Unique Boutique (HUB).

HUB, a sophisticated resale shop which depends on donations from the public, opened on June 12, 2009, located at 1618 Ashland Street, between Wiley’s and Wendy’s. SOFA is pleased that in its first year of
operation the shop has exceeded fundraising projections and is able to provide funds
to deserving organizations that provide end-of-life care or services.

From 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. the public will be able to meet SOFA board members, and enjoy live music, drawings for prizes, and an anniversary cake. The awards ceremony will take place at 3:00.

The day will include a reading and book signing by hospice nurse Heidi Telpner, author of One Foot In Heaven, an account of Ms. Telpner’s decade of work in the hospice field.

The nearby Beanery, on the corner of Ashland and Walker, has offered to join the celebration by donating to HUB 10% of proceeds from sales between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.
