Things to Do While Waiting for your Play to Start

The OSF is opening February 19. Need some ideas on how to kill some time before your next play starts?
  1. Take your dog to the dog park. It is located on Nevada Street, at the beginning of the Bear Creek Greenway. Take the small road directly across from Helman Street.
  2. Catch a movie at the Varsity or Ashland Street Cinemas. catheatres.com
  3. Create your own necklace, earrings or other trinket at the Bead Studio at 266 E Main St. 488-3037.
  4. Take a walk or ride a bike along the Bear Creek Greenway.
  5. Take a hike along the many trails above Ashland.
  6. Ride your mountain bike along the trails.
  7. Read a book. We have used, new, children's and metaphysical bookstores. Or check out the public library. Public Library located at the corner of Gresham and Siskiyou Blvd. 7746980 for circulation and renewals.

    Note the library is closed on Friday.

    If
    you prefer to buy your books, then you must check out Bloomsbury Books
    at 290 East Main. If they don't have it. They can probably get it for
    you.
    If used books are more your thing, check out The Book
    Exchange at 89 Oak St. or The Book Wagon at 1652 Ashland St. in the
    Ashland Shopping Center.

    For metaphysical books, try Soundpeace at 199 E. Main St.
    For kids, check out Treehouse Books on the plaza at 15 N. Main.
  8. Eat ice cream. Check out Zoey's at 199 E. Main or get some gelato at Mix 57 N. Main St. on the plaza.
  9. Have a picnic in Lithia Park
  10. Play tennis in Lithia Park.
  11. Work out or swim at the YMCA.
  12. Browse through the numerous shops along Main St. and the plaza.
  13. Pick up a postcard at the Ashland Drug and send it to loved ones back home.
  14. Learn something fascinating at the Science Works Museum.
  15. Get some fresh vegetables and fruit at the farmer's market, Tuesdays at the Ashland Armory, 8:30am-1:30pm.
  16. Hitch a ride to Medford and take the tour at Harry and David's. Free samples!
  17. Sample some local chocolate at Dagoba at 1105 Benson Way at the south end of town.
  18. Visit some local wineries. Oregon Wines
  19. Visit the local Ashland Food Co-op, try some organic hot and cold deli food, and watch the locals. You don't have to be a member to shop.
  20. Try some local brew at the Standing Stone Brewery or the Siskiyou Microbrew Pub.
